SMDP was created in 1999
to fill an opportunity that had been identified in the training
market. Having worked in a commercial sales environment for
over 25 years at all levels from junior to executive, the
business owners had experienced delivery from a large number
of training companies.
Being absolutely honest, we only used between zero and five
percent of many training courses - and five percent was a
great course!
What it meant was that we couldn't apply most of the content
to our day to day role - so the majority of the training content
was wasted.
What do we do?
Just delivering skills training workshops is not effective.
So, we bring a package which helps every delegate to become
more productive by learning new skills and understanding how
to apply them in the workplace. Our target is to make ALL
of the contents totally relevant to each delegate in their
day to day role.
In a relatively short period of time we have worked with
a wide range of clients, from multi-national Corporates, through
to small ambitious entrepreneurial businesses. Our carefully
selected trainers, who are experts in their individual disciplines,
are consistently in great demand from other training providers
within the UK and Europe.
How do we work?
We work very closely with every client (no matter how big
or small they are) to understand their specific strengths,
corporate philosophy, standards and processes, and to identify
critical areas that we believe will deliver the greatest return
on their training investment. The way we do this varies greatly
from a simple meeting, to conducting research in the field
with staff.
A solution will be proposed to the client that forms the
start of a discussion. If matters progress, this will culminate
in the contents of a Training Programme being agreed.
To integrate the Programme into the day to day activities
of the Delegates, all training focuses on two critical areas:

Am I making the best use of my Working day?

Am I seeing the ‘right’ people the ‘right’
number of times for the
‘right’ reasons?

How well have I planned my time for the next week, next
month
and next year?

Have I managed my Territory to an optimum level?

How motivated am I to succeed with every Customer?

Do I have the correct skills to be able to deliver the
best solutions to
my Customers?

Have I a clear plan to develop my personal attributes
to a sufficient
level?
